Laurie Jean & Rose bio picture
  • Hi, and welcome to Laurie Jean & Rose. My name is Lauren, and I have been photographing newborns since 2010 in the NW Atlanta area and all over! My love affair with newborn photography began shortly after the birth of my youngest son, when I missed the window for my son’s sleepy newborn photos due to my photographer canceling on me at the last minute. Unfortunately I didn’t get any sleepy posed shots of him, but so began my interest and love for newborn photography.

    I am completely self-taught, and have photographed over 1,000 newborns over the last near decade. My goal is that you find our session an enjoyable experience, are completely relaxed, and love your newborn photos for many years to come. I prefer to focus on timeless images with simple props vs. the latest gimmick. 80’s clothes and hair, anyone? Okay, that era was actually pretty awesome, but let’s keep the baby photos fresh.

    Hope to hear from you!

    xoxo Lauren

Nina Maternity Sneak Peek {Atlanta Maternity Roswell Photographer}

I photographed Nina’s friend’s newborn baby boy recently, and she booked me for her maternity and newborn photos :)

I loved her dress. It was a nice change from the classic white a lot of moms wear. And she’s having a boy, so it’s perfect :) Nina is due any day, and I can’t wait to meet her baby! Glad we were able to get her maternity session done in time as we had some scheduling issues, but we got it worked out. Now, we wait <3

Caroline & Maggie Sneak Peek {Atlanta Twins Photographer Decatur Newborn Photography}

Caroline and Maggie were so darling! Caroline, the bigger twin with dark hair, was quite alert and took a while for her to really fall asleep, but the session overall went pretty well!

Maggie was very complacent and pretty much let us do anything with her :)

Little Maggie had to stay behind in the hospital a few days, so I waited patiently for her to be released so that we could photograph them together.

I just love twins! There’s something so special about twins. My mom is a fraternal twin, so it is even more special for me to photograph a set of twins.

These girls are just beautiful! Poor dad got pooped and peed on by Caroline 2-3 times during the parent shots. He was a champ, for sure! :) I can’t wait to see little Caroline and Maggie again!

Chase Sneak Peek {Atlanta Marietta Newborn Photography Alpharetta}

Chase had THE most gorgeous little lips! He was almost 9 pounds of chunky baby, and he was so good for me :) Took him about 10 minutes to fall asleep after feeding, but once he was out he was very good.

I just LOVE the shot of him on the cream with that little green and cream hat. I love soft colors with newborns, but I also love bold colors too! It’s a tough choice, so it’s good to get a bit of both.

I got to meet Chase’s big brother, Brooks, as well, too. Love their names. Can’t wait to see little Chase again!

Mia 9 Months Sneak Peek {Atlanta Baby Sandy Springs Photographer}

Remember baby Mia? It is so hard to believe this little princess is already NINE months old! Where has the time gone? I have captured her since she was in her mom’s belly :) Hard to believe it has been nine months since we did her newborn photography session.

We met up in one of my favorite spots for her nine month session. The light was beautiful, and we got some great smiles out of her thanks to Mr. Elephant, one of her toys. It was tough holding it and shooting at the same time, but I made it work!

Mom wanted some washtub pix, so they lugged some water in a cooler from home, and we were able to take some cute little bath pix, though mom forgot bubbles. But that’s okay…next time! :) She had a blast anyway!

Can’t wait to see Mia for her 1-year cake smash!

Zoey Sneak Peek {Atlanta Newborn Marietta Baby Photographer}

Zoey was such a treat to photograph! She was beautiful but had some extensive little baby acne, which babies generally get around 2 weeks of age. You’d never know it after editing, though! :)

I generally do not take last-minute sessions, but I had some extra time available, and Zoey’s mom called me when she was 13 days old. Generally, 13 days is the turning point for newborn photos where it’s hit or miss and you may not get many shots, so I asked if she could come right away. I was really worried that little Zoey may not cooperate for us, but she was an angel! She did great :)

I swear, I’ve used that pink headband several times in the past few weeks. Moms keep picking it out :) I love it, too. The little gold pearl is so girlie!
