Laurie Jean & Rose bio picture
  • Hi, and welcome to Laurie Jean & Rose. My name is Lauren, and I have been photographing newborns since 2010 in the NW Atlanta area and all over! My love affair with newborn photography began shortly after the birth of my youngest son, when I missed the window for my son’s sleepy newborn photos due to my photographer canceling on me at the last minute. Unfortunately I didn’t get any sleepy posed shots of him, but so began my interest and love for newborn photography.

    I am completely self-taught, and have photographed over 1,000 newborns over the last near decade. My goal is that you find our session an enjoyable experience, are completely relaxed, and love your newborn photos for many years to come. I prefer to focus on timeless images with simple props vs. the latest gimmick. 80’s clothes and hair, anyone? Okay, that era was actually pretty awesome, but let’s keep the baby photos fresh.

    Hope to hear from you!

    xoxo Lauren

Maye Sneak Peek {Marietta, Atlanta Baby Photographer}

Ohh, Maye! Maye has been a little client of mine since she was a newborn when her parents chose me for her newborn pictures. Maye is a very loved little girl. Her mom and dad waited a long time for her, and they cherish her so much. I feel so lucky to have captured Maye in her newborn and milestone photos for the past year, and I have enjoyed getting to know her parents and forming a relationship with them. That’s part of what newborn and family photography is all about…not just taking pictures periodically and selling a product.

Maye is such a sweet, reserved girl! I’m a little sad that I won’t be seeing her every few months and likely won’t see her for a full session again until she’s 2. Hopefully, her mom and dad will bring her for a Christmas mini session :) We chose to do her 1-year pix in 2 parts, so this was just the cake smash portion. There will be more cuteness to come when we do more pictures with some of her newborn props at her home. I will miss seeing little Maye, but it’s been exciting watching her grow!

Lilia 4 Months {Canton, Kennesaw, Atlanta Baby Photographer}

SERIOUSLY!? This baby girl is only 4 months old, and look at that full head of gorgeous and LONG hair! :) I was so shocked to see how much hair she had, and I kept going on and on about it throughout the session. Daddy supposedly had a lot of hair when he was born, but his fell out. Looks like Lilia’s hair is here to stay! She’s a little Rapunzel, for sure. Lilia was so happy and smiley throughout the session, but she loved playing with the blanket and her shoes, so it took some work on my and mom’s part to get her to look at the camera. She loved her Pooh bear :) After doing some indoor shots of her, we were going to head over to an outdoor location to get some more shots, but unfortunately my battery was dead in my van, so we had to reschedule that part…so look forward to seeing more of this cuteness soon!

Vivianne Sneak Peek {Kennesaw, Atlanta Newborn Photographer}

Vivianne was a joy to photograph! Her mom contacted me when Vivianne was already 11 days old. I was going to be out of town for the week, and her mom requested the following Sunday for her session, putting her at 17 days old! I was a little hesitant, but not many newborn photographers will accept babies over 10 days of age, so I decided to do it as I didn’t think they would find anyone else on short notice. I’m glad I did! Vivianne was definitely one of the most cooperative “older” newborn babies I have ever photographed. She was relaxed and sleeping the majority of the session, and she only fussed just a little. :) Newborns are best photographed between 7-10 days old, and it’s generally expected that you won’t get many photos of a baby much older than that. I’ve had lots of little hiccups during sessions with even babies 11-12 days old. It seems once they hit 11 days, they “wake up” and stir more easily or stretch out of the poses. But Vivianne rocked her session! So glad I got to photograph this beauty!

Hailey (Sneak Peek)

Miss Hailey’s parents had a little trouble finding a newborn photographer because they didn’t book in advance. Newborns are best photographed between 6-10 days of age. Luckily, I was able to photograph little Hailey at 7 days new. She was very agreeable during the first half of her session. She had some tummy issues and made us work during the second half, but she was overall a very good baby.

Hannah Sneak Peek {Alpharetta, Kennesaw, Atlanta Baby Photographer}

I have been photographing this baby girl since she was in her mom’s tummy! It has been so neat watching her grow up! I first did her mom’s maternity photos back in April 2012, then her newborn session, followed by 2, 4, 6, and now 12-month photos…whew! Will update this post with some cake smash pix soon. Hannah is a beautiful girl and one of my favorite little clients. :)
