Laurie Jean & Rose bio picture
  • Hi, and welcome to Laurie Jean & Rose. My name is Lauren, and I have been photographing newborns since 2010 in the NW Atlanta area and all over! My love affair with newborn photography began shortly after the birth of my youngest son, when I missed the window for my son’s sleepy newborn photos due to my photographer canceling on me at the last minute. Unfortunately I didn’t get any sleepy posed shots of him, but so began my interest and love for newborn photography.

    I am completely self-taught, and have photographed over 1,000 newborns over the last near decade. My goal is that you find our session an enjoyable experience, are completely relaxed, and love your newborn photos for many years to come. I prefer to focus on timeless images with simple props vs. the latest gimmick. 80’s clothes and hair, anyone? Okay, that era was actually pretty awesome, but let’s keep the baby photos fresh.

    Hope to hear from you!

    xoxo Lauren

Brian Paul Sneak Peek {Hiram, Atlanta Newborn Photographer}

This baby is a total sweetheart. He totally stole our hearts during his session. He was a few weeks early, but his session was a breeze. He didn’t give us much trouble. During his session, I handed him to Rose to hold while I swapped a blanket, and she said they could stay friends as long as he didn’t poop on her, and what did he do? A few second later, he showed her who was boss. Lol! The baby of 2 big sisters and another sister in Heaven, he is a very loved baby!

Desmond (Sneak Peek)

Desmond was a gorgeous baby! Not only were his parents patiently awaiting his arrival, but I was as well. Desmond was adopted by his awesome parents. They traveled to Florida for his birth and to complete the adoption, and we were on pins and needles as to whether they would make it back in time for his session since newborns are best photographed between 6-10 days of age, but all worked out. He was a little rockstar, and it was so neat to see 3 people become a family that otherwise wouldn’t have had it not been for the gift of adoption.

Olivia (Sneak Peek)

Baby Olivia was supposed to be one of my newborn clients. Unfortunately, the weather and a cold house due to a broken furnace prevented us from completing her session. Olivia was photographed by another photographer for her newborn session as a result, but I was pleased her family wanted to schedule her 6-month photos with me.

Olivia was so sweet and gave us some great smiles! Her mom and dad didn’t plan on being part of the session, but I encouraged them to think about it, and I’m glad they decided to join in. It is always best to incorporate parents into sessions with babies between 3 months and 1 year, if possible. Babies do not tend to do much at those ages aside from offering us different expressions, so it’s nice to get some family shots. Plus, you will appreciate them later. I wish I had gotten photos like this with my kids when they were babies.

The light was beautiful during Olivia’s evening session.

Addison (Sneak Peek)

Little Addison was a newborn photographer’s dream. She slept the entire session and hardly made a sound. Loved her full head of dark hair! I’m definitely way behind on blogging this beauty’s session, but I remember Addison’s mom saying they want to add 6 more children to their family. Addison is going to be quite the busy big sister. :) One of the cutest little babies I’ve photographed, I hope I will see some of her siblings in the future.
