Wow! We had some gorgeous morning light during Shanika’s maternity session, and with the dress she chose and the scenery, I felt like I was in the middle of a safari!
Waking up and heading out early on a Saturday morning for a session is not my favorite thing (not a morning person!), but I LOVE morning light, and it’s it’s always worth waking up for. It’s my personal opinion that morning sessions go better anyways as you can start right after sunrise and get some beautifully lit shots immediately versus evening when you start and get the best lighting right at the end, and then the light is gone. With morning sessions, the light is best right at sunrise, but it’s still great and favorable for shooting beyond that if you want to continue.
Shanika looks beautiful pregnant, and this is their first baby. We had some laughs during the session, and I love the emotion I captured between them. I can’t wait to photograph their sweet baby when he’s here!
