Laurie Jean & Rose bio picture
  • Hi, and welcome to Laurie Jean & Rose. My name is Lauren, and I have been photographing newborns since 2010 in the NW Atlanta area and all over! My love affair with newborn photography began shortly after the birth of my youngest son, when I missed the window for my son’s sleepy newborn photos due to my photographer canceling on me at the last minute. Unfortunately I didn’t get any sleepy posed shots of him, but so began my interest and love for newborn photography.

    I am completely self-taught, and have photographed over 1,000 newborns over the last near decade. My goal is that you find our session an enjoyable experience, are completely relaxed, and love your newborn photos for many years to come. I prefer to focus on timeless images with simple props vs. the latest gimmick. 80’s clothes and hair, anyone? Okay, that era was actually pretty awesome, but let’s keep the baby photos fresh.

    Hope to hear from you!

    xoxo Lauren

Ryann Sneak Peek {Atlanta Newborn Alpharetta Photography}

Little Ryann was sooo sweet during her newborn session! Her parents didn’t know she was a girl until birth, but they decorated the nursery in a sea theme and wanted blues in the photos. I love how they turned out!

She sure rocked that sleigh shot, huh?! I made the bow last minute out of Christmas clothing. Love it. :)

As always with newborn photo sessions, someone should be next to your newborn at all times, especially during shots in buckets and things like this newborn sleigh. Safety first!

Elharia Sneak Peek {Atlanta Newborn Marietta Photographer}

WHEW! Elharia gave me a RUN for the money! She was awake for quite some time, but once she finally fell asleep, she was great during her newborn session. But for a while there, I wondered if I would get any sleeping shots of her. I always end up winning, however :) And look at that SMILE! She smiled several times for us :)

Elharia’s dad is a singer and really wanted a picture of her on his guitar during the newborn session. Please note that BABY WAS SAFE, and a hand was on baby. This is a composite shot. For new photographers, please do not attempt this without some experience in composites. Nothing is work risking baby’s safety during a newborn session.

I love how the guitar shot turned out! Elharia’s parents are going to try to convince some friends of theirs to come for a newborn session soon as well. Nothing is more flattering to me than referrals.

Madeline Sneak Peek {Georgia Newborn Photographer Atlanta}

Madeline was so precious and SO good during her session! I did her mom’s maternity pix, too, and I was so excited to meet this little princess! It’s always so nice when a baby sleeps the entire time. Her newborn session was as smooth as butter :) The only thing she didn’t like was uncurling her fingers, so we had to alter the frog pose a little bit by allowing her to ball up her fists, but I love the way it turned out. It squishes up those cheeks even more <3

I can’t wait to see little Madeline again, hopefully for her 6-month photo session. Those are always super fun :)

Hazen Newborn Sneak Peek {Atlanta Midtown Newborn Photographer}

Hazen “Hayes” was such a cute, sweet little newborn! His parents were given the session as a gift from his dad’s parents. I love when people surprise others with newborn sessions and choose me as the photographer :)

Hazen’s dad wanted to get a photo with his old Tonka trunk as a child, and I love how it turned out. And now that it’s approaching Christmas, we couldn’t resist getting a photo in my awesome newborn sleigh!

Can’t wait to see Hazen again!
