Laurie Jean & Rose bio picture
  • Hi, and welcome to Laurie Jean & Rose. My name is Lauren, and I have been photographing newborns since 2010 in the NW Atlanta area and all over! My love affair with newborn photography began shortly after the birth of my youngest son, when I missed the window for my son’s sleepy newborn photos due to my photographer canceling on me at the last minute. Unfortunately I didn’t get any sleepy posed shots of him, but so began my interest and love for newborn photography.

    I am completely self-taught, and have photographed over 1,000 newborns over the last near decade. My goal is that you find our session an enjoyable experience, are completely relaxed, and love your newborn photos for many years to come. I prefer to focus on timeless images with simple props vs. the latest gimmick. 80’s clothes and hair, anyone? Okay, that era was actually pretty awesome, but let’s keep the baby photos fresh.

    Hope to hear from you!

    xoxo Lauren

Luke Sneak Peek {John’s Creek, Atlanta, Marietta Newborn Photographer}

Luke was such a cute little peanut! I traveled to Luke’s cozy home in John’s Creek for his newborn session, and luckily all of my equipment and props fit nicely in their living room space. Luke was great for his newborn session, and he hardly gave me a problem at all. He was so tiny and sweet, and I was able to get some great shots of him. Traveling for a newborn photography session is never the easiest thing due to the nature of moving so much equipment (lighting, flooring, tons of props, etc), and it’s usually something I dread doing, but I have to say that Luke’s session went so smoothly. Even setting up all of my equipment was a breeze!

I really enjoyed meeting Luke and his family, and I can’t wait to see him again!

Reagan Sneak Peek {Atlanta, College Park, Marietta Newborn Photographer}

Does Reagan not have the most perfect little lips OR WHAT?

Love her name, and her parents were so funny and entertaining. Mom and dad really adore their little beauty! Reagan wouldn’t wake up to eat — she was knocked out! — so she was a little fussy throughout the session, but overall she was great, and we got some really great shots during her newborn session. The only shot we didn’t get out of Miss Reagan was the frog pose. She just wasn’t having it, and I don’t like forcing a pose, so we skipped. It was wake-up time for her by that point :)

Love her little toes, and love, love the egg basket shot. Love that fabric and matching tie-back!

Sam – Sneak Peek Pet Session {Kennesaw, Buckhead, Atlanta pet photographer}

Sweet Sam is such a special boy. He was adopted from a local Animal Control Shelter, where he might not have had such a happy ending if his new mom and dad hadn’t come along and fallen in love with him. Mom and Dad are newlyweds, and together with Sam they make just an adorable family. Sam’s mom bought him some new clothes for his session, which you can probably tell he was not too happy about! I think Sam was a little embarrassed, but he makes a perfect Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer if you ask me! Despite the FREEZING weather, we were able to get some nice outdoor shots with the beautifully colored leaves on the ground in Sam’s front yard.

Sweet Mila Sneak Peek {Atlanta, Vinings, Kennesaw Newborn Photographer}

Mila took quite a while to fall asleep, but once she did, it was pretty smooth sailing! She was so precious and sweet, and her parents clearly dote on their new baby daughter. During her newborn session, dad sang songs to calm her, and it worked…she likes her daddy’s voice :) As her mom said, she looks like she’s floating on a cloud in the cream blanket pix! :) She rocked her newborn session! Mom’s favorite pose is the frog pose (chin resting on hands), so I was really hoping we would be able to get the shot. Usually, it is not a problem to get the frog pose shot, but sometimes babies simply don’t like it, and I do not like to force a newborn pose. Glad we got it!! :)

Nolan, 9 Days – Sneak Peek {Canton, Marietta, Atlanta Newborn Photography}

OH. MY. GOSH. Did this just happen? Yes, it did! Nolan was SO adorable! I definitely had some baby fever while snuggling with him during his session. I see a lot of newborns, and of course ALL of them are precious, but Nolan’s chunkiness and his beautiful skin just got me! Nolan’s mommy was gifted his newborn session from a VERY loyal client & friend of mine.

This sleigh is so perfect for all of my Christmas newborns. I was really concerned about its size when it arrived. It barely looked big enough to hold a puppy, much less an 8-lb. newborn baby! But, I was surprised…it worked really well, and it was the perfect size…just big enough for me to pose him just right :)

So glad I got to photograph this sweet baby. I absolutely adore the parent shots as well <333
